I was not scared in space but it is because I trained and prepared so much. If you think about it, what makes you scared is things you don't understand and things you don't know what's going to happen. If they just grabbed you from where you're sitting right now and put you in the spaceship and said, "we're going to launch in five minutes", I think you'd be scared but if they grabbed you from where you are sitting right now and put you in a classroom and said "okay, study for the next two years and then you'll be allowed to go to space", then you would learn so much, that it is familiar and then it's not scary.
