For everyone there are different things that make it click. What does a song have to have to make it a hit for you?

It has to have a great groove and it has to have a melody that has hooks in it. I think that a hook is everything. There is a song out right that I think is fantastic. It's called Genie in a Bottle. As soon as I heard it I knew it would be a hit and if you listen to that song it has about 4 or 5 different hooks in it. Ones that just grab you right away and I think that's important. And I'm learning and growing as a songwriter and I think that's important too. I think on my second album you'll be seeing a little bit of change. I'll be sticking with basically with the same formula, but I think I'm growing as an artist, growing as a writer. Still to keep things in their pure form but I want to make sure that the hook is strong.
