Can you tell you about advance training you took?

There are many aspects to our training, once we complete basic training where we look at all the shuttle sytsems and make sure we understand the shuttle systems, there is a series of theoretical classes that we do. We have a series of simulators. With advance training...

We have the extravehicular training, where we have in Houston the largest pool in the world. It is 100 feet wide x 200 long 40 feet deep. we are able to put the shuttle at one end of that pool. We also have other modules in the Int'l space station in other areas of the pool and we practice in our space walking walking suits, our extra vehicular activity or what we call our EVA suits in the assembly of the space station and also the interaction of the robot arm during the assembly.

Another part of advanced training is the training on the Canada Arm itself. This is a long course where we become proficient robot manipulator operators using the Canada Arm out in space.
