After the 8.5 min launch it takes about 90 minutes for the shuttle to go once around and in that 90 minutes youíll see one sunrise and one sunset so over the length of a 24 hour period youíll see 16 sunrises and 16 sunsets. And just to put that in perspective, a trip to the moon at shuttle speed is about 3 days, and a trip to the planet Mars depending on where it is and its orbit is about one year.
